Abstract

Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM’s) represent a small group of vascular pathologies which have in a 90% of cases, a congenital origin. We present the case of an 8-year-old girl with persistent headache, polycythemia, signs of digital clubbing and peripheral oxygen saturation of 88%. Imaging studies confirm the presence of an arteriovenous fistula at the right inferior lobe, which was closed performing interventional catheterization with an occlusive device (coils). Satisfactory outcome was evidenced after the defect closure.
