Abstract

Objective: Describe cases of chickenpox with bullous impetigo with and compare with cases of chickenpox with infection of skin and soft tissue not bullous impetigo and then looking the relationship witha history oftopical application ofch'uñu.

Methods: Study transversal analytical, studied to the patients hospitalized between 2009 2011 by diagnosis of chickenpox with impetigo bullous (IB) and then compared with 105 patients diagnosed as chickenpox with skin and soft tissue infections not IB (SSTI not IB).

Results: In the study period from 2009 to 2011, 457 children were hospitalized for complications of chickenpox, of whom 319 had complication SSTI of which 31.3% (100) were IB, we found a significant association with the history of the application ofch'uñu in chickenpox rash in the development of IB(p<0.001). We also finddifferencein timeof illness(p =0.044), leukocytosis (p<0.001) and increasedC-ReactiveProtein10 mg/L (p <0.001).

Conclusion: They are not infrequent cases of chickenpox with bullous impetigo. The cases of chickenpox with bullous impetigo are related to the history of the topical application of ch'uñu. We recommend other studies that demonstrate the etiology and direct relationship.
