Introduction: Breastfeeding self-efficacy is the mother’s capacity for confidence and security when breastfeeding; Attitude to breastfeeding is defined as a learned disposition (mental and emotional) to respond consciously to breastfeeding Objective: To determine the factors associated with the attitude towards breastfeeding in women in the immediate postpartum period with high breastfeeding self-efficacy. Methods: Cross-sectional analytical design in women in the immediate postpartum period with high breastfeeding self-efficacy. The groups were defined with the IIFAS instrument (positive attitude and neutral attitude to breastfeeding). Life as a couple, occupation, education, age and gynecobstetric history were studied. Statistical analysis included multiple logistic regression and calculation of the probability of event occurrence. Results: The model to explain the attitude to breastfeeding included the variables education and age (p=0.020), when the education is a bachelor’s degree or more and the age is 25 years or more, the probability of a positive attitude towards breastfeeding is 49.3%; If the education is high school or less and the age is 24 years or less, the probability of a positive attitude towards breastfeeding is 21.7%. Conclusion: The factors associated with the attitude towards breastfeeding in women in the immediate postpartum period with high breastfeeding self- efficacy are education and age.
