Background of Pediatrics in Peru

Prior to an introduction that refers to some milestones of Pediatrics in the world, different aspects that have promoted the development of Pediatrics in Peru, since 1603, are addressed. Also, how Pediatrics is added as a subject and as a postgraduate specialty in Medicine teaching. Likewise, the development of projects aimed to improve the coverage and quality of maternal and children services have been incorporated. Besides, it is mentioned the permanent contribution of the Peruvian Society of Pediatrics.
