The adolescent as a patient is living a maturing process, where ethics and the health care should work together. The pediatrician will do his best for him to reach welfare, but it is important to consider confidentiality, autonomy and rights protection. Sometimes parental authority and adolescent freedom complicate handing the problem. Taking shared decisions with the adolescent and his parents is recommendable, seeking for equilibrated solutions, thinking that the successful way only will be reached with a tripartite effort.
