Neonatal Lupus: Case Report

We report the case of a newborn with Neonatal Lupus of the Neonatology Department in the Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo in Lima, which was suspected to have severe bradycardia and atrioventricular block III°. During the prenatal period presented bradycardia with average heart rate of 80 beats per minute and test normal fetal well being. Mother denies past medical history. Was born by cesarean for suspected fetal distress or congenital heart disease, with clear amniotic fluid and APGAR 81 - 85. Postnatally, the new bornpresented with heart ratesthat reach 60 beats per minute. The EKG showed atrioventricular block III°, the investigation of the causes of this type of heart block wasperformedanditwaspositiveforIg GantiSSA/Ro. A cardiac pace maker was placed.
