The foundation of the Hospital of the Child, today National Institute of Health of the Child, constitutes undoubtedly a transcendent milestone in the development of the Peruvian Pediatrics, since on the above mentioned establishment there were founded the modern scientific bases of the above mentioned speciality, at par of be constituting as the pediatricians’ principal forming center of the country. The purpose of this article is to announce, in succinct form, the principal facts that happened around the foundation of the Institute.
