Abstract

Since April 2020, data on Kawasaki syndrome and the hyper inflammatory response in children associated with COVID-19 have emerged rapidly. Much is still unknown about risk factors, pathogenesis, prognosis, and specific therapy for this emerging manifestation of COVID-19 known as Multisystemic Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C). MIS-C is rare and early recognition is crucial, although standardized treatment guidelines have not been established. It is the first case of a patient admitted with a diagnosis of Kawasaki disease (EK) associated with COVID 19, in Tarapoto city, department of San Martin. She is a 6-year-old female patient, who is admitted to the hospital, presenting persistent fever of 5 days, urticariform rash, unilateral cervical lymphadenopathy, raspberry tongue, red and cracked lips, erythema of pulp of fingers and toes, with molecular test SARS-CoV-2 POSITIVE (Ct: 32.5),start treatment with Immunoglobulin 2gr / kg / d, with favorable evolution.
