Ectopic pregnancy (EP) accounts to 1 to 2% of pregnancies and it is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality for women during the first trimester of pregnancy. EP occurs when the fertilized ovum becomes implanted and grows outside the uterine cavity with high risk of mortality. Being rarely presented in adolescents, the preoperatory diagnose remains still as a challenge, for it resembles the symptoms presented in complicated ovarian cysts. The case presents a 14-year-old nullipara who enters de Emergency Department referring abdominal pain and transvaginal bleeding, correctly diagnosed through ultrasound, and confirmed with exploratory laparotomy and histologically diagnosed as tubal ectopic pregnancy.
