Vitamin D poisoning can be frequent in our environment and there are no reported cases. Despite this, it is described as the most frequent cause of iatrogenic hypercalcemia in children and it is associated with the related signs and symptoms. We report the case of a child who was given a vitamin supplement, which caused vitamin D poisoning and acute renal failure. Recovery of the patient and normalization of parathyroid hormone and serum calcium took several weeks. This would be the first reported case of Hypervitaminosis D in the national literature.
