In this bibliographic review, the most important points of the most recent information about gastrointestinal polyps are written simply. Gastrointestinal polyps found during childhood are one of the most common causes of bleeding of the digestive system in this age group. Most of these are benign and localized in the colon. Polyps in the esophagus and stomach are a rare finding. When multiple polyps are present, it must be ruled out that it is an inherited disease or adenomatous polyps. There are important syndromes associated with polyps that the physician should take into account, such as juvenile polyposis syndrome or Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, which will be reviewed in this paper.
