Neurodevelopment is a complex process influenced by endogenous and exogenous factors, including breastfeeding, which influences it providing the specific nutrients, and through the act of breastfeeding, which favors bonding, attachment, emotional security and the stimulus for development. Research shows growing evidence that breastfeeding has a long-term positive effect on neurodevelopment, superior to other forms of infant feeding.
