Influencia de los procedimientos invasivos en el desarrollo de la sepsis neonatal

La sepsis neonatal constituye una causa muy importante y significativa de morbi-mortalidad en este grupo de vida. En un estudio retrospectivo en el Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia se identificaron 46 niños con sepsis neonatal. La incidencia de sepsis neonatal fue 10,5 por 1000 nacidos vivos. La tasa de mortalidad fue 56,5%; 43,5% en sepsis neonatal temprana y 60.6% en la tardía. Los gérmenes más frecuentes en el hemocultivo fueron primero Enterobacter cloacae, seguidos de Klebsiella sp. y Pseudomona sp.
